NO more an INTERN

and so today marks the end of my internship.
looking back i tink it has made me grown up a lil.
b4 this i've nv reali worked b4.
vacation job used to mean sitting by the pool with a whistle and sunnies.
so the past 3 months was an eye-opener for me.
from the tagging along for client meetings and exchanging of namecards, to the site excursions, zhichar lunches and ritz carlton buffet din to the shopping trips and kids workshops.
i tink it was generally a lovely experience overall.
not to forget the great pple i've comed to know..
oh n this girl wields a mean drill now.

sheena had to attend the facilitator's workshop today.
she's really nice n certainly made the desk-bound hours more enjoyable.
yest she bought mi popiah for tea cos she knew how i LOVE popiah.
she's super sweet cos she rmbd tt i dislike the chinese sausage thing and asked the uncle to omit it.

got treated to jap food by boss for lunch.
last day excursion outing to visit companies and buy supplies.

Declutter

i cannot believe it.
i'm halfway thru my internship.
the past 1 1/2 weeks was reali bz,
cos another intern went overseas and had to cover some of her stuff.
but it was fun tho.
i mean, look at elmo!

he belongs to one of the staff.
we made him a personal wardrobe!!
a very well loved person i must say. =D
so reali, who said tt work is dull?
oh n with surprises like homemade apple cinnamon pancakes hand-delivered in the morning, need i say more?

anyway, the homeground hasnt been slacking either.
baby n randy came over sat n it was a reali productive day.
nia n i shifted all the furniture ard in our room.
with the help of the two strong fellas we got everything done pat in a day.
k so its still messy and the chairs n drawers havent been delivered but believe mi.
i'm proud of us! x))

aunts came over sunday din n it was lovely.
havent reali been spending quality time w them.

mr bloggie has decided to be a lil more hardworking today. =D

i've been reali caught up w internship.
awhile and i'm into the 5th week now.
8 more weeks to go.

I feel like a lil office rat.
dun get me wrong.
the job's great.
just that office hours means that you cant do some stuff cos it also means office hours over for others too.
like my putting off to see the doctor for my back.
another work hazard.
i feel like a old lady.
who sits at her desk hiding behind the com.
secretly pleased and waiting in anticipation for lunch break.

talking about lunchbreak, i've given up on the building's canteen.
by the end of week one i cud tell u wats one the menu.
fried rice, fried beehoon, horfun or the daily special:
mon meesiam, tue fishball noodles, wed prawn mee...
thurs lormee and fri i'm not sure cos by then ms tiara run away.

so now, lunch=lunchbox!!

i must admit that i'm not a white rice or white potatoes or white bread person.
so lunchbox has been revolving ard cold sobas, scones, sandwiches, muffins, grain breads and sweet potatoes to go along with whatever i prepare.
which have included stuff like pumpkin friattas with three peppers, and lots of homemade stews...
(a lil messy looking to be posted here =D not that the pics here are great tho. i'm usually too eager to eat. Pardon the ice in the carrots, i had to thaw them after.)

made a banana walnut loaf tue nite.
it was realli nice cos it was raining and i was clearing the kitchen b4 mummi gets home fr her jakarta trip and the smell of bananas was just the feeling of home.

mummi has a habit of bringin back lots of food,
which usually ends up a funni situation.
like when she had to dump 20kg of choc and food in sydney cos luggage overweight.
or the sight of her lugging home a whole carton of mulberries fr china.
anyway, this time she got us 2kg of avocados, punnets of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and a big ambon cake.
there was also this apple pastry which had this cake layer reminiscent of kueh lapis.

that's y mummi's so loved by her children. =D
k kidding, i'll love her all the same. x)
oh i just realised fathers' day's this sun!
kept thinking it was on 22nd.

talking bout fathers,
dad visited last week.
i tink he decided to pop by sg along the way to china biz trip.

and so the rainy weather found us in the house today.
baby picked mi up after mno makeup and we headed down to check out ntuc finest.
picked up some stuff b4 gg back to do some serious cooking.



on the menu was..
pureed tomato soup and toast.
roasted vege salad.
aglio olio pasta.
and panfried haloumi cheese.

tho i wasnt much help.
cept for peeling carrots and configuring the oven.
and the fact tt all i was doing was sitting there with my tea and pumpkin seeds while picking at the food baby was cooking.
(including being extra helpful by attempting to take a pic of him in the garden choosing basil in the rain)

i like my hummus not so smooth so that its more nutty.
had it on top of some salad.
together with warm raisin toasties and milk.

its recess week and boy am i glad.
it started off nicely when baby and jx popped by school on fri.
lunch kakis!
and they agreed that biz canteen was erm,
too dark for comfort.
so there we were at arts when the crane fell.
didnt tink much of it at first.
until at night when we found out 3 pple died.
c'est tres mal.
nous ne avons voulu pas pour de événement.

yest was fun.
we got stuck for almost a couple of hrs at this quaint lil japanese eatery for lunch.
it made us wan to spend dinner there too.
the food there i tell u.
OH MAN.
shopping after.
popped by fiona's 21st bash for a lil peek.
the party was grand.
complete w a band and djay and catered eats cocktail bar tent and all.
oh and her pretty happy hse reminescent cake.
it was a long long time since i've seen so many whitley pple in one place.
but i tink its kinda nice, parents speeches and all.
i tink i've got a soft spot for those.
but reali, its sweet.

we had a silli lil party just the four of us today.
it was theorectically to make up for the 15th cny reunion dinner but act more for the fun of it.
i cooked!
lol.
ok it wasnt anytink special cos had class and dinner was prepared like snap in a jiffy.
so we had like homemade lo hei with extra extra salmon skin in it.
i made teriyaki salmon.
had it served w pumpkin brocolli rice n sparkling juice juice.
lol.
its a lil silli cos on the 15th every1 was bz.
and i came home to cheesecake on the table with a note written:
"happy chap gor meh my angels! love, mummi"
oh mummi. x)
i tink she's making yummies for dessert later. =)

the past week was ocupied with cny gatherings, flimin and getting everything up for today's presentation.
we had doubted the chance of getting any free time.
chronically in need for sleep but i had a great great time being the silli broadcaster.
the rain scene was hilarious.
we cudnt get the big black plastic bag so in the end i made do with a big plastic bag for raincoat.
and it came complete with an ntuc plastic bag and the huge yellow bollie to keep away the rainwater. =D

it was just tt celebrating it just for tradition's sake somehow dampened the specialness of it all.
